It helps to put it in park....

Seriously, I wonder if the people at the gas station tonight had a good laugh as they watched one of their customers try and get gas. I am not sure what was going on...but I will try and describe it. There was this lady who pulled into the gas station and got out to put gas in. She went to the pump, swiped her credit card, grabbed the pump and turn to her car. She must have realized at that point that there was no where to put the pump. No where..... She replaced the pump, ran around the other side of the car...and amazingly enough, there was the gas tank! She ran back around...you could just tell she was trying to size up the hose, see if it was long enough to reach all the way around the car. Nope...must not have been. She then when to the pump and started gently pushing the cancel button. And pushing it more. Still more and not so gently. It must not have cancelled because she ran and got in the car very quickly, did a super fast 6 point turn and was now facing the right direction. She hoped out of the car, ran and got the pump hose, turned....and it no longer reached the car. The car was still moving away from her and the pump. She then ran to the car with the pump in hand trying to stretch her foot far enough inside the door to hit the brake pedal. No such luck, she couldn't even reach the drivers door. Quick thinking, she ran back, replaced the pump into its holder and ran back to stop the run away car. She backed it up, lined up perfectly with the pump and hopped out to start fueling. Great! Car stayed in place. Then it happened...her shoulders slumped, I could almost see the tears welling up as she trudged back to her car. The sale had finally cancelled........she had to get the credit card back out and start the whole process over. I can say this......or would love to say this.....glad it wasn't me!!

  1. No! No it wasn't!

    Are you serious?

Oh, I would have loved to be having pizza at nearby picnic table so I could see it all going down.

  3. This was certainly a hoot! I never see anything like this when I get gas. I would love to have witnessed this incident. Great story.
